The mission of Student Activities is to endear students to TCU through irresistible events and experiential leadership opportunities. We want our students to laugh, be entertained, be challenged, be comforted and to make connections with other students across the campus. In collaboration with the TCU community, we focus on providing personal and professional development that complements each student’s academic experience.
Our staff accomplishes these goals by advising theCrew, Hall Crew,
theEnd, the Student Government Association, and providing funding and planning/marketing assistance for student organization events.
Student Development Services: FYE
Within Student Development Services, the first year experience at TCU is a year-long collection of programs that touch every aspect of what it means to be an incoming Horned Frog. New Student Orientation, Frog Camp, Frogs First, and Connections work in conjunction with one another to create a welcoming environment that showcases the values of TCU which contributes to the academic and social life on campus.
Hall Directors often partner with Frog Camp, our extended orientation, and Connections, a 7-week seminar, where they are paired with different student leaders to support a small group of incoming students through their transition to TCU. Check out a look at one of our Frog Camps here.Inclusiveness and Intercultural Services
Inclusiveness and Intercultural Services (IIS) advocates and promotes diversity, inclusiveness, and cultural awareness throughout the TCU community through multicultural outreach, leadership development and student conference opportunities, cultural awareness programs and diversity training. IIS also houses the Community Scholars Program; while overseeing and supporting different multicultural, religious and social justice student organizations. We collaborate with Housing and Residence life through the cultural connector position and Intercultural Banquet. Signature programs include Hispanic Heritage Month, LGBTQ History Month, Black History Month, Cultural Cuisine, Intercultural Banquet, Inclusiveness Luncheon, the Atlantic Slave Trade Bus Tour and the Civil Rights Bus tour.
